Dear Lou -

Thanks for sending me those socks - they are just the thing.  I rather expected to get the pictures tonight but they didn’t come - hope they will tomorrow!

We moved beds again tonight so in 6 weeks of the Army I have had 5 different beds.  Goodness knows what I’ll sleep on next week when we are on bivouac.  it was a mad house around here and they didn’t have mail-call until 8:00 P.M. - for the 1st time in a couple of weeks there was nothing for me.  Yesterday I heard from Bob Schriever who is in OCS at Miss. State College.

The last couple of days we have worked very hard - yesterday making dummy guns & tanks & today on a combat problem & making a small map which was interesting but which was a little tiring.  I’m darn tired right now.  It is already 8:30 & I need to clean my gun before I turn it.  Also I need a shave.

Last night I went in to Laurel with some guys but I didn’t bother to dance more than 1 number - instead I sat down and wrote Mom a letter.  I would have been better off staying around camp, but I suppose it was a good diversion.  Although we are away from here all day and it is rather satisfying to collapse in the barracks or go sit in the day room.

Well, I’ll get that gun clean - if you haven’t seen the pictures yet, please send them as soon as you can - I’m eager to see how they panned out this time -

Harold
