Campaign OverviewThe bipartisan legislation to award a Congressional Gold Medal to The Ghost Army has been re-introduced in the 117th Congress.More than 290 Representatives have co-sponsored the House bill, HR 707. That's 2/3 of the House, and the magic number that puts the bill on a parth to a floor vote.
The Senate bill will be introduced soon. We need 2/3 of the Senate to co-sponsor in order to bring it to a vote there. The bipartisan bills encompass both the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops, and the 3133 Signal Company Special, which practiced sonic deception in Italy. |
"Members of the Ghost Army made tremendous contributions to the Allied Powers during World War II but were tragically never properly recognized in order to protect the tactics they developed. I am excited to work with Rep. Stewart to right this wrong and award the Ghost Army units with the Congressional Gold Medal to honor their contributions to save Allied lives and defeat fascism in Europe."
-Representative Annie Kuster (D-NH) |

"These men are heroes who are responsible for saving thousands of lives & for years unable to share their story. I'm proud to be a part of this legislation & bringing long over-due recognition & appreciation to these soldiers & their families, including Utah's own Stanley Nance." - Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah)

“The men recruited for the Ghost Army were men of muscle, but also men of the mind. They were creative, original thinkers that used engineering, art, architecture and advertising to wage battle with the enemy. Their weapons were unconventional but their patriotism was unquestionable.”

“Our nation will always be grateful to the members of the ‘Ghost Army’ soldiers who served with distinction during World War II. This bipartisan bill would recognize these soldiers with Congress’ highest civilian honor for their courage and resourcefulness, which were pivotal in the European theater and likely saved many American lives.”

"I am proud of this Ghost Army legislation, and I hope to see it move forward and pass so that these fine Americans can receive the recognition they have long deserved. God bless the members of the Ghost Army."

Deserving of Honor |
"The United States is eternally grateful to the soldiers of the 23d Headquarters, Special Troops and the 3133d Signal Service Company for their proficient use of innovative tactics throughout World War II, which saved lives and made significant contributions to the defeat of the Axis powers."

What Can I do ?What can I do? |
All Congressional Gold Medal legislation must be sponsored by two-thirds of the House and Senate before it can be considered. So we need co-sponsors.
