Roster Info

The Soldiers of the Ghost Army

Master Searchable List

We have created a new searchable master list of soldiers serving in the Ghost Army. Access by pushing the button below.
Master Roster (Google Doc)
This roster contains information on men from the following units:
  • The 23rd Headquarters Special Troops
    • 603 Camouflage Engineering Battalion Special
    • 3132 Signal Service Company Special
    • Signal Company Special
    • 406 Combat Engineers
  • The 3133 Signal Service Company Special (Operating independently in Italy
  • The Army Experimental Station at Pine Camp (where the 3132 and 3133 were trained)
  • The 12th US Army Special Plans Branch (which planned the operations of the unit)
There is no single document containing all of the names of the soldiers who served.  We have pulled this together from multiple different documents, as well as information on such sources as Fold3 and Ancestry. If you notice any errors, or have any suggestions, please email rick@ghostarmy.org

This list may contain names of soldiers in the 3132 or the 603rd who did not travel overseas when the units were deployed.

In some cases there are personal comments on the men which come from some of the sources, for example, the document "3132 Caption List" by Bill Anderson.

Source Material

These are the most important sources on the list.  Many of them were preserved by Bill Anderson, who served in the Signal Company Special, and donated his archive to the Ghost Army Legacy Project.
